Ingredients
For the smokey memphis BBQ turkey burgers
Tips
For extra flavor, you can mix a bit of the Memphis Smokey BBQ Blend into the barbecue sauce.
Experiment with different types of cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, for variation.
If you prefer, you can grill the onions alongside the turkey patties for a smoky flavor.
Serve the burgers with additional barbecue sauce, pickles, or other desired toppings.
Leftover cooked patties can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven or microwave.
steps
Let’s make it
Step 1
In a large bowl, gently mix the ground turkey with the entire sachet of Memphis Smokey BBQ Blend until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
Step 2
Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Grill or pan-fry the turkey patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Step 4
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and brown sugar, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes until the onions are caramelized and softened.
Step 5
When the turkey patties are cooked, top each one with a slice of smoked Gouda cheese. Cover the grill or skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Step 6
Spread the barbecue sauce on the toasted brioche buns. Place the turkey burger patties on the bottom buns, and top with the caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato slices.
Step 7
Close the burgers with the top buns and serve immediately.
